The project of the Hilton Double Tree hotel, situated in Via di Breme in Milan, was born from the idea of increasing hospitality on an expanding area of city business development.

 

The site is located between the new Trade Fair complex of Rho and the old one – Fiera Milano – which is still in use.

The project goal was to create a high standard four stars hotel where the client would be able to find everytype of comfort, both for business and relaxation.

 

The idea of the windowed façade shielded with special screens was to transform light into the central focus: the hotel as a landmark of the business world, a beacon of the modern metropolis.

 

The building form is connected in part to the Milan courtyard tradition and was derived from the use of an old industrial building (only its original basement floor was retained).
