Affori Centre
This project for the renovation of the Affori Centre in Milan, a complex for real estate services, was developed for CB Richard Ellis Investors.
The intervention, which focused on the reorganization of internal spaces and renovation of the façade, includes three buildings of regular shape reachable by passing through a tunnel, which was the monolithic and characterizing element of the project taken along the water routes. Running through it, one reaches a big central lobby, onto which all floors open.
For the façade, has been used a polycarbonate brise-soleil and full height frames, to highlight the horizontal and buildings proportions, allowing one to clearly read the module. The utilization of light materials such as travertine, glass and stainless steel emphasize the concept of elegance and contemporariness.
To create a contrast, for the floor terraces, has been used very strong colours like orange and red. The project features maximum flexibility for the interior spaces with an open plan that can be modulated to serve the tenant’s needs and a high technological standard for the offices.
More about this project
"From a typical 1970s office building, anonymous in image and dated in functionality, comes the Affori Centre complex, a modern tertiary center in northern Milan.
The building has been completely redeveloped paying particular attention to the issues of eco-sustainability and energy conservation, earning LEED gold certification. The project is in line with the need to create an innovative place that can stimulate the company's growth.
The target area is characterized by a significant presence of residential settlements concentrated, in particular, along the road axis and some neighborhood public facilities. In the immediate surroundings, the urban fabric is characterized by the coexistence of manufacturing, tertiary and commercial functions and, further north of the area, a decommissioned industrial plant. The intervention is part of a P.1.1. that has as its object the redevelopment and transformation of the industrial area through the formation of a new residential and tertiary complex."
