Via Porto Corsini

The project is located in a former industrial area of the city undergoing a constant transformation into a more residential and commercial neighborhood.

This transformation is due largely to good transportation infrastructure such as metro and train lines.

As a result the urban fabric is in constant flux and presents a wide mix of lower 3 to 6 floor buildings and occasional residential towers. In addition, this area displays a wide mix of architectural styles and periods.

The aim of the project was the construction of a housing complex with sustainable rents (social housing), which redeveloped a long abandoned and disused block.

More about this project

"Located in a highly urbanised area between Viale Monza and the Bicocca district, Porto Corsini 2 is only 300 metres from the Sesto Marelli metro station.
The area, which is undergoing transformation, is part of a highly diversified and complex urban district due to the presence of important infrastructures: the Milan-Monza railway, the Greco-Pirelli station, the railway overpass, and the partly disused industrial areas of Ansaldo, Pirelli, Breda, and Falk, in the Milan and Sesto S. Giovanni metropolitan area. Numerous commercial and real estate operations have, in recent years, redefined and parcelled out the area, according to more modern market logic: buildings for industrial use have thus been replaced by those for residential and commercial use."
