Via Soderini
The surrounding area is part of a urban plan from the 60s, characterized by square or rectangle shaped monolithic blocks, sharing similar aspects, creating a uniform look for the area, with the site enclosed between three of these blocks and via Soderini.
The volume has a monolithic aspect, aligned to the existing building, although it remains compact, avoiding soil consumption, in order to leave as much space as possible for vegetation and to keep the fragmented character of the urban fabric.

More about this project
"The analysis and reading of the context, the infrastructural constraints and the different building types guided our design choices.
The architectural choice was to conform, by designing a building similar in shape to the surrounding ones, but reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The aim of the project was not to "interrupt" the variety of the environment, but to adapt to its complex non-uniformity.
From the analysis of the solids/empties it emerges that the surrounding buildings are all in plan with a pure geometric form (rectangle, square etc.) and that, rising several storeys high, they seem to take the form of monoblocks."

"Via Soderini 54 is a new residential complex designed by Gas Studio, created to replace a pre-existing car dealership and its garage. The project envisages the construction of a tower building, subdivided into a mix of housing units that differ in size and type for a total of 25 units. In the basement, the construction of 35 closed car garages, 2 parking spaces and 25 cellars with related technical rooms is planned."
