Portola valley
Portola Valley’s new town center was developed in response to two distinct and complementary needs: resolving the seismic, access, capacity, and infrastructure issues of the complex's aging buildings, and creating a more unified town center able to support civic and community activities, as well as the cultural life of the town.
To develop a compelling vision for the new town center, our team held facilitated community design workshops to solicit input, test ideas, identify what people liked and didn't like about the existing site, and develop alternate approaches. The plan was further refined with additional committee, council and public review.
The new town center includes a library, town hall, community hall, and activity rooms, plus sports fields and parkland on an 11-acre site.
