More about this project
"The project’s goals were aimed to increase the number of available rooms for students of the Universities of Milan with quality temporary housing solutions, which were also to be economically accessible, and to improve the impact of the context in which the building is located.
The existing building is located in the area with a strong human presence, affected by a dense network of pre-existing structures. It was decided to renovate the building’s envelope with a new facade, characterized by volumes playing off the grid on the perimeter walls, to redefine the skyline through the reorganization of the massing of solids and voids, and to add additional floors
Thanks to this new configuration the entire block became more recognizable with its' volumetric character in a harmonious dialogue with the buildings of the area and public open spaces around it."
